男，汉族，1948年4月生，天津市人。

国家一级演员。

自幼喜爱京剧，尤其是对裘派花脸演唱艺术情有独钟，11岁时考进天津市戏曲学校。

1969年进入天津市京剧团（后更名为天津京剧院）后，在现代戏《芦花淀》中担任了重要角色。

1981年拜裘派花脸艺术家方荣翔为师，在艺术上日臻成熟。

表演凝重深沉，润腔方法细腻，气息运用合理，突出抑扬顿挫的对比变化，在唱腔中注入了浓厚的感情色彩。

因在《铡美案》中精彩的表演而被誉为“活包公”。

在《赵氏孤儿》《除三害》《赤桑镇》等戏中开创的新腔至今仍为戏迷所喜爱。

Honors & Recognition

第三批国家级非物质文化遗产项目京剧代表性传承人。
