吕剧作曲家。
1949年参加渤海区党委文工团，1950年调入山东省地方戏曲研究室，初任演员，后任伴奏员兼作曲。
1952年开始吕剧音乐创作。
1954年与张斌合编《吕剧音乐》，由山东人民出版社出版发行。
1957年与张斌、武韬等重新整理音乐、唱腔的《李二嫂改嫁》《借年》由长春电影制片厂拍摄成戏曲艺术片。
在近六十年的创作、演奏生涯中，为近百部剧目作曲。
作为新中国第一批革命文艺工作者，和其他同事一起参与了吕剧剧种改革、发展的全过程。

男，汉族，1932年2月生，2016年8月去世，山东省高密县人。
第三批国家级非物质文化遗产项目吕剧代表性传承人。
培养了大批优秀学生，许多已经成为当今吕剧音乐作曲、坠琴演奏的骨干。
