16岁随师傅汪叙伦学艺，先后在合肥美术工艺厂、歙县工艺厂从事木雕艺术七十余年，曾参与人民大会堂安徽厅木雕装潢工作。

工艺美术师。
将木雕从传统的建筑构件中解放出来，以之再现经典绘画作品，开创徽州木雕新领域。
其作品构思设计完整，雕刻手法多样。
2001年起，历时两年完成高1.7米、长42米的金丝楠木雕刻《万寿山五百罗汉图》，幅间布局精当，人物众多，繁而不乱。
2007年起，又用3年时间完成高1.7米、长9米的巨幅《清明上河图》。
其他代表作有《黄山大观》《百骏图》《蓬莱仙境》《仙寿图》等。

男，汉族，1928年7月生，2018年3月去世，安徽省歙县人。
第三批国家级非物质文化遗产项目徽州三雕代表性传承人。
