擅长用绘画形式和写实手法创作，在作品中体现出深厚功底和不拘一格的艺术特色。

在从事创作的四十余年间，创作了大量精品，培养了大批人才。

作品被中南海紫光阁、人民大会堂和中国工艺美术馆等陈列或收藏。

著作有《釉上新彩颜料的性能与使用》《醴陵釉下彩》《醴陵窑》等。

创作的大量釉下陶瓷精品，曾参加英、美、日等三十多个国家和地区的展览。

在创作中既重视传统，又不受其约束，作品能放出时代华彩。
