其夏布编织技艺系家传，师承其父颜前木。

第三批国家级非物质文化遗产项目夏布织造技艺代表性传承人。

8岁开始挽麻芋子，12岁开始织布，15岁就自编自卖，八十余年间一直从事夏布编织，积累了丰富的经验。

熟练掌握了接纱尾子、麻线头、牵线及刷浆、上机织布等夏布织造技艺。

夏布编织技术十分精湛，尤其是穿筘及刷浆，即便在编织过程中出现局部损坏，也能修复得不露痕迹，并通过对夏布神歌的传唱，使夏布织造技艺的历史背景和其文化内涵能够被人们了解和传承。

多年来，一直积极向后辈及周边群众传授夏布织造技艺。
