In 1940 she was apprenticed to the master lacquer artist Shen Fuwen, and she is the second-generation inheritor of Chongqing lacquerware.

Female, of Han ethnicity, born in December 1924 in Chongqing. National representative bearer of Lacquerware Decoration Craftsmanship (Chongqing Lacquerware Decoration Craftsmanship), a third-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. A senior master of arts and crafts, a master of arts and crafts of China and an expert receiving a special allowance from the State Council. From 1942 to 1947 she studied in the five-year lacquerware programme of the Sichuan Provincial College of Art, graduating with a bachelor's degree, and afterwards taught lacquerware and arts and crafts. Inheriting tradition while constantly innovating, she pioneered the lacquerware technique of coloured eggshell inlay. Her craftsmanship is superb. She excels at lacquerware design and lacquer painting and has attained a high level of artistic accomplishment. Her works are ingeniously conceived, fresh in mood, novel in composition and distinctive in style, rich and exquisite, and imbued with a sense of the times. Her representative works include Danke Qian Feng Pan (Dish with Inlaid Phoenixes in Eggshell), Yinsi Baihua Jiuju (Silver-Wire Hundred-Flower Wine Service), Danke Fengwen Da Pan (Large Dish with Phoenix Pattern in Eggshell), Danke Qian Kongque Pan (Dish with Inlaid Peacock in Eggshell) and the lacquer painting Sanxia (Three Gorges).
