Lineage & School of Heritage

The bangdian (Tibetan apron) is a waist apron worn in everyday dress by married Tibetan women. In his early years Gesang learned from Dawa the skills of weaving, dyeing, and tailoring bangdian aprons, and he later established the first family workshop for bangdian weaving in the Tibet Autonomous Region; it has since developed to the point of owning eighteen pulu (woolen cloth) weaving frames today.
