将木拱桥的绑扎结构发展为榫卯结构，增加抗倾斜的剪刀苗，所造的桥起拱高、受力好，更符合力学原理。
在造桥之余，还积极培养木拱桥传统营造技艺的后继人才。
中央电视台为其拍摄科教纪录片，弘扬、宣传木拱桥传统营造技艺。
Honors & Recognition
男，汉族，1929年2月生，2021年5月去世，福建省寿宁县人。
共建造木拱桥十七座，现存九座，其中寿宁县大宝桥被列为省级文物保护单位，寿宁县鸾峰桥更是以跨度大、桥高、桥险和环境美等特点，被列为全国重点文物保护单位。
