土家族哭嫁歌歌手。
善于撷纳常用的质朴语言，语句天然、情真意切，把骨肉之情、孝敬双亲、和睦乡邻等传统美德作为哭嫁歌的主要内容。
调多反复，歌词句式自由灵活，利用拖词或紧句来完成唱腔。
演唱中经常巧妙运用多种修辞语法，强调情感渲染效果。

第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目土家族哭嫁歌代表性传承人。
热衷于保护与传承传统土家族婚俗，为邻户邻村邻镇邻县的出嫁女帮唱和主唱了四百多场次，授徒三十余人，是闻名湘鄂渝黔的土家族哭嫁歌歌手。
