男，汉族，1938年8月生，河南省滑县人。
国家三级演员。
1953年春拜老艺人王喜行为师，同年秋登台演出。
后拜徐太和、王道修、张法旺等前辈艺人为师，学习西路大平调唱法。
主攻黑净，以演包公戏见长。
嗓音洪亮，唱腔豪迈奔放，句句似钟，字字如鼓；表演动作幅度较大，注重表情和剧情的统一，粗犷中不失细微，显得大气豪迈；善于用不同的唱腔和演技塑造不同时代、不同性格的人物形象。
参演剧目百余部，代表剧目《铡美案》《司马茅告状》《收吴汉》《下高平》等先后在国内多家音像出版社出版发行。
Honors & Recognition
第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目大平调代表性传承人。
培养的多名弟子均为剧团主要演员，再传弟子也已成长为西路大平调的后起之秀。
