自幼学习戏曲，师从郭文卿、郭明常等柳子戏老艺人学习柳子戏，后在学习过程中受到郭亮、陈多、李紫贵、徐晓钟、王永增等专家教导。

国家三级导演。
掌握的曲牌有三百余支，主要唱腔有“拉罗腔”“青阳腔”“娃娃腔”“乱弹腔”“昆腔”“高腔”“序子腔”等。
“跑伞”是其在《窦公送子》中饰演窦公时独创的特技，舞蹈性强，堪称一绝。
在不脱离柳子戏传统的基础上巧妙运用声腔，形成了清新委婉、深沉含蓄、声情并茂的个人演唱特点。
Honors & Recognition
男，汉族，1939年8月生，2018年11月去世，山东省菏泽市人。
第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目柳子戏代表性传承人。
为使柳子戏后继有人，培养了八十余名后备人才，他们中有的已成为国家一级演员或国家一级导演，有的已成为剧团管理者。
