In 1975 she was admitted to the Susong Huangmei Opera Troupe, studying under the composer Tao Yan and the Huangmei opera artist Jiang Lina, among others; in the course of learning Wennanci she continually pushed beyond her own limits and worked to broaden her performing range, and she was once described as having 'a wide theatrical range, a fine sensibility and many-sided talents'.

Female, Han ethnicity, born in December 1962, a native of Susong County, Anhui Province. A National Second-Class Performer. Her voice is broad and bright, with character and charm; her performance style is plain and vivid, uniting outward form with inner spirit, and she excels at creating artistic images of many different types. She played the cousin's wife in Su Wenbiao Jie Yi (Su Wenbiao Borrows Clothes) and Miaochang in Zhui Zhou (Chasing the Boat), creating characters of striking individuality and lifelike immediacy.
Honors & Recognition
National representative bearer of Wennanci, a fourth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. For many years she has taken part in performances in various places, trained a group of new students, and often gone into schools and communities to promote and teach the art.
