Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire

A Class-One Actor, he served as head of the Tangshan Quyi Troupe. In 1955 he studied the Jin school of Laoting dagu under Jin Wenran. His singing is mild, melodious and lingering, pure in flavor, with correct pronunciation and full-toned articulation, strict drum-and-clapper work and a strong sense of rhythm; the Siping tune displays his artistry most compellingly. In 2001 his recordings of The Single Sword Meeting, Tianshui Pass, The Little Girl and other pieces were published and released.
