15岁时师从武术名师谭继林，习武十年间不仅精通了五禽戏，而且系统学习了形意拳、太极拳、八卦掌及三十多种刀枪棍棒武术套路，有扎实的武术基础，身形敏捷，动作刚柔并济，力度十足。
打破功法不外传的旧习俗，举办五禽戏培训班推动全民健身，收集整理华佗五禽戏各流派著作，结合自身长期习练心得，出版《华佗五禽戏》一书，积极传播五禽戏，指导传授数万人，影响遍及国内外。

第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目华佗五禽戏代表性传承人。
