1963年从福安农业专科学校茶叶专业毕业后，开始从事制茶和茶叶科学研究工作，师从武夷岩茶区制茶师傅学习武夷岩茶（大红袍）的传统制作方法，并系统地掌握了晒青、摇青和烘焙等传统核心技术。

男，汉族，1941年8月生，福建省武夷山市人。
第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目武夷岩茶（大红袍）制作技艺代表性传承人。
武夷岩茶（大红袍）制作技师。
为进一步弘扬武夷岩茶文化，主持建造了能立体反映武夷岩茶制作技艺的烘青楼，为传统制茶方法的保存提供实物证明。
同时，还以技艺的动态传承为己任，致力于茶品种的研究及推广工作，重视茶苗的引种繁育。
