男，汉族，1948年3月生，湖北省保康县人。
《黑暗传》歌师。
生于歌师世家，8岁随其父吴正湘学唱《黑暗传》，12岁能够独立背诵并演唱长篇叙事神话长诗所有章节，“昊天圣母”“如来入世”“定光划界”“混沌开天”“三皇定位”“女娲造人”等经典章节信手拈来，张嘴就唱。
将《黑暗传》广泛应用于民间白事及薅草锣鼓等场合，在传承过程中不断充实故事内容，使故事情节丰满、人物形象鲜活，是活态传承《黑暗传》故事较多、在当地最具影响力的歌师。
2008年3月，参加鄂西北地区民俗展演活动，演唱的节目被中央电视台播放。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目黑暗传代表性传承人。
70多岁仍热心授艺，培养传承人十余名。
