1953年跟随父亲张志荣及其师傅徐积强学习锣鼓秧歌。

男，汉族，1938年8月生，江苏省金湖县人。
1955年已能独立演唱，至今已唱秧歌六十余年。
代表作有《大栀子花》《大红娘》《衣架姐》《姐思情》《打芦叶》等三十多篇。
演唱吐字清晰、声音洪亮，常使用上滑音、下滑音装饰旋律，加上带有地域色彩的衬字、衬词，使得演唱极具地方特色，演唱内容既有引人入胜的长篇叙事故事，又有幽默风趣的短小歌头。
尤其是长篇秧歌，填补了苏北地区无叙事长诗的空白。
