生于乐器世家，祖父于潮州创立“蔡福记”乐器店，父亲后迁店香港。
20世纪50年代，师从寓居香港的浙派琴家徐文镜学得传统斫琴技艺，并逐步形成自己的斫琴规范。

男，汉族，1933年8月生，广东省潮州市人。
斫琴技艺遵照古法，主要以桐、杉、楸、梓等木为坯，以鹿角灰混合生漆为灰胎,面罩生、熟漆。
选料、开料、刨琴面、挖共鸣箱、打磨及上弦等工序，均独力完成，约需二百个小时。
20世纪60年代以来，为香港和海外琴人斫制古琴二百余张，修复历代老琴逾百张。
1993年起，开设斫琴研究班，持续至今，在香港延续了琴人自斫琴的传统。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目古琴艺术代表性传承人。
