幼年随父母走西口来到内蒙古河套地区，17岁起师从当地著名的二人台艺人刘金宝学习爬山调演唱。

男，汉族，1946年10月生，原籍山西省河曲县，现居内蒙古自治区乌拉特前旗。
演唱的爬山调曲调高亢、色彩亮丽、内容富于变化、即兴性强。
多年来，在表演之余先后在当地举办多期训练班，为弟子和学员百余人传授演唱技艺，培养出一大批爬山调传承人。
积极参与创立爬山调艺术学会，建立固定的传习所，牵头组织抢救、搜集、整理爬山调民歌，自创、自编爬山调作品，录制、出版音像资料，为爬山调民歌的传承做出了较大贡献。
代表曲目有《娘家行的朋友不长久》《拉骆驼》等。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目爬山调代表性传承人。
