男，汉族，1947年5月生，河北省衡水市人。
毕业于中国戏曲学校，后入中国京剧院工作。
工老生，宗余（叔岩）派。
先后受教于陈斌雨、雷喜福、李和增、王金璐、叶盛章、李世霖、刘曾复、欧阳中石等人，学戏近百出。
代表作有《红鬃烈马》《白帝城》《四郎探母》《逍遥津》《瘦马御史》等。
能文能武，嗓音高亢脆亮，唱念韵味纯正，婉约、豪放兼而有之，朴素大方，注重人物性格刻画。
先后为中国京剧院、北京京剧院、上海京剧院等院团和中国戏曲学院教授数十名老生演员。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目京剧代表性传承人。
