男，壮族，1945年8月生，广西壮族自治区隆安县人。
从小跟随父亲所在的戏班四处演出，小学时便组织儿童剧团进行表演，1959年成为南宁市邕剧团学员，学习粤剧及京剧表演的基本技巧。
1962年拜著名邕粤剧两栖演员黄少金、李名扬为师。
专攻小武行当，熟练掌握铲台、跳椅、手桥、把子功等南派粤剧表演技巧。
先后导演过《月到中秋》《紫金锤》《龙象塔奇缘》等近百出剧目。
重视传统，整理了《西河会妻》《芦花河》等一批传统粤剧剧目，保存了一批与粤剧及自身从艺、授徒相关的图文、音视频等资料，为南派粤剧艺术的传承发展贡献了力量。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目粤剧代表性传承人。
