Male, Han ethnicity, born in November 1970 in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province. A national second-class actor. At the age of sixteen he was admitted to the Zizhong County Puppet Troupe, studying under the renowned local puppet performer Zhang Fanxiu and the veteran puppet maker Li Yousheng. He has taken part in the performance of more than eighty plays and programmes and has been responsible for making more than one hundred puppet figures of different types and styles. He has successfully developed such feats as puppet face-changing, puppet calligraphy and puppet acrobatics, and has trained more than forty professionals. He has played the leading roles in the large-scale mythological puppet plays Sun Wukong Beats the White Bone Demon Three Times, The Ruby and The Battle against Demons.
Honors & Recognition
National representative bearer of Puppetry (medium-sized rod puppetry), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. He has received the Golden Lion Award, the highest actor's merit award of Kazakhstan and a special prize at the Third Ukraine International Art Festival, and was named an advanced worker of the national cultural system.
