男，回族，1947年4月生，云南省昆明市人。
国家一级演员。
出身滇剧世家，自幼喜爱滇剧。
1958年进入昆明市滇剧团，在周锦堂、赵纪良等前辈滇剧艺术家指导下，主攻滇剧的文、武老生，功底深厚。
唱腔高亢激昂、念白字正腔圆，表演做功委婉动情，细腻传神。
武生动作矫捷灵活，长、短靠武生表演精彩到位。
在继承滇剧传统表演的基础上，结合自身嗓音特点发展了声腔，推陈出新，形成了自己独特的生角艺术风格。
在诸多剧目中担任主演，成功塑造了严伟才、郭建光、林冲、况钟、杨四郎、孙悟空等形象。
Honors & Recognition
第五批国家级非物质文化遗产项目滇剧代表性传承人。
长期在昆明呈贡斗南滇剧爱好者协会授徒，弟子李有信已成为滇剧的省级非遗代表性传承人。
