A solid foundation in fine arts from university laid a good basis for his proportioning of paper colours and his hand-painting of paper patterns. He has innovated the formula for gold-mud paper, overcoming the shortcoming of traditional imitation-gold mud gold, which easily oxidizes and blackens in damp conditions, so that this ancient traditional technique can continue and develop.
