Male, Han ethnicity, born in July 1953 in Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province; representative bearer of traditional brewed liquor brewing craftsmanship (the traditional Jinhua wine brewing craft), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. There are records of brewing as early as the time of his ancestor Lu Ziyi. Lu Ziyi, a man of the Southern Song dynasty, was the eleventh-generation descendant recorded in the genealogy of the Lu family of Dahui, Dongyang; he once presented home-brewed rice wine to Lu You, who wrote the poem Guo Xilü and Lu Ziyi of Dongyang Send Wine. From the establishment of the Yuhe distillery by Lu Zhifu in the Qing dynasty down to his father Lu Qiwei, the craft had been passed through six generations. His father took over the Yuhe distillery in 1942 and later renamed it the Huxi Distillery. Lu Minxiang learned the brewing craft from his father; he now leads a young team of transmitters and has completely mastered the ancient method of brewing. He has travelled to Macao, Hong Kong and the Taiwan region to take part in exhibitions of China's time-honoured brands. Drawing on the records in Zun Sheng Ba Jian (Eight Discourses on the Art of Living) and Bencao Gangmu (Compendium of Materia Medica), he revived the Dongyang variety of Jinhua wine and established a traditional Jinhua wine culture exhibition hall.
