His family owns about fifty mu of ancient tea trees. From childhood he went with his father to the tea garden to pick fresh leaves and learn tea making. Under his father's guidance he specialised in controlling the firing, and by his early teens he could complete the whole processing sequence by feel alone.

Male, Bouyei ethnicity, born in January 1965 in Duyun City, Guizhou Province. He is a national representative bearer of Green Tea Processing Craftsmanship (Duyun Maojian Tea Processing Craftsmanship), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. He is a technician in Duyun Maojian tea processing. After finishing junior middle school he took up the family trade, producing Duyun Maojian and processing it by traditional hand methods; through years of study and experiment he has developed a distinctive set of techniques. Combined with the ancestral practice of firing the wok with China fir branches, this yields a tea of jade-green colour, even and uniform appearance, fresh and tender aroma, full fresh flavour and sweet aftertaste, with a clear liquor and bright infused leaves; its quality is excellent and it is widely popular.
Honors & Recognition
He now owns nearly one thousand mu of tea garden, has established the Shili Chaxiang cooperative, and has trained more than two hundred apprentices.
