Liu Wenwei was born in October 1957 in Tianjin Municipality and is of Han ethnicity. He is a representative bearer of Traditional TCM Preparation Methods (the Jingwanhong Ointment formula and preparation craft), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. He is a senior pharmaceutical engineer. He has been chiefly responsible for upgrading the manufacturing process of Jingwanhong Ointment, transmitting the craft, researching the expansion of product functions and developing new products in the Jingwanhong Ointment series. He attaches importance to the master-apprentice transmission of traditional crafts; on the basis of strictly selecting apprentices he insists on passing on culture, skill and personal integrity, and while safeguarding the continuity of the Jingwanhong Ointment formula and preparation craft he has also trained a group of skilled bearers who command the traditional process.
Honors & Recognition
He has received honorary titles including the meritorious service medals for the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Tenth Five-Year Plan periods awarded by the Tianjin Municipal Federation of Trade Unions.
