Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire

Wang Yanming was born in May 1951 in Yutian County, Hebei Province, and is of Han ethnicity. He is a representative bearer of Traditional TCM Preparation Methods (the Laowang Mazi plaster preparation craft), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. After his father died of illness in 1989, he took up the burden of heading the Laowang Mazi plaster preparation craft. While inheriting the family's secret formulas, he devoted attention to systematic study of traditional Chinese medicine; after graduating from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine his understanding of Chinese medicine and of therapeutic methods grew deeper. He emphasises the transmission of the craft so that more people may inherit and carry forward the Laowang Mazi plaster preparation craft.
