From 1946 he served as an apprentice and then as a shop assistant at the Yuanfengxiang herbal workshop in the Chengguan area of Yu County, and subsequently worked at the Yu County Pharmaceutical Company, the Chinese Medicine Wholesale Department and the Yuzhou Municipal Medicinal Materials Company. From 1990 to 2006 he served as chairman of the Yuzhou Chinese Medicine Trade Association, devoting himself to promoting and transmitting the Yuzhou medicine fair and the techniques of traditional Chinese medicine processing. Following the nine-steaming and nine-sunning method of the medicine king Sun Simiao that circulated in Yuzhou, he restored the processing techniques for the four great nine-steamed preparations that had been lost in Yuzhou for many years, and developed Yuzhou nine-steamed and nine-sunned prepared rehmannia, nine-steamed and nine-sunned fleeceflower root and other products; he enjoys wide influence in the locality and is known as the living dictionary of the Yuzhou medicine fair. He has actively transmitted the customs of the Yuzhou medicine market and the techniques of Chinese medicine processing, and has taken on several hundred disciples.

Male, Han ethnicity, born in June 1931, died in October 2020, a native of Yuzhou City, Henan Province. He was a national representative bearer of Yao Customs (the Yuzhou Medicine Fair), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project.
