Huang Jiajin learned the craft from his father-in-law Dong Yaxian from an early age. After many years of practice he mastered every technique of the Li firewood dance and became the most celebrated exponent of the dance in his village.

Honors & Recognition
National representative bearer of Li Dachai Dance, a second-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. From 1975 onwards he passed the techniques of the firewood dance on to the villagers, so that most of the people in the village became able to perform it.
