Zhang Xiling
Lineage & School of Heritage
From 1973 to 1987 Zhang Xiling studied under Han Baiguang, a master of Meihua Quan (Plum Blossom Boxing) from Changyuan, Henan, learning the Meihua Quan series of techniques, including grappling and fighting, intercepting qi and sealing the ying and wei (nutritive and defensive) energies, applied combat, Taiyang Gong (Sun Exercise), the stake methods and battle arrays of Meihua Zhuang (Plum Blossom Stakes), rare weapons, and troop deployment. He became proficient in the school's sabers, spears, swords, and halberds, and mastered the traditional routines of rare weapons such as the plum-blossom sword, the Chunqiu great saber, the meteor hammer, the three-section staff, the single saber, the double sabers, the seven-section whip, and the plum-blossom spear.

Male, of Han ethnicity, born in 1959, a native of Xingtai, Hebei. Zhang Xiling attaches great importance to the innovation and development of Meihua Quan (Plum Blossom Boxing), particularly its basic postures. In order to glorify and promote the art of Meihua Quan, Zhang Xiling has traveled to other places many times to observe and exchange ideas, studying them deeply and exploring new directions for the development of Meihua Quan. He has also led Meihua Quan martial arts troupes in performances across China and abroad on many occasions, promoting the spirit of Eastern Meihua Quan and receiving uniformly favorable reviews.
Honors & Recognition
A representative bearer of Xingtaimeihua Boxing (Xingtai Plum Blossom Boxing), a first-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. In order to transmit the art of Meihua Quan, Zhang Xiling, as principal of the Wenwu School of the Holy Land of Meihua Quan, has trained more than four hundred and sixty Meihua Quan disciples.
