彭美英15岁考入陆丰县双喜正字戏剧团，随后进入汕头戏曲学校学习正字戏专业，学艺期间曾先后得到正字戏著名表演艺术家陈宝寿、曾广照、黄学明的悉心指导。

女，汉族，1944年生，广东陆丰人。

自1962年至1976年，彭美英主演了《百花赠剑》《荆钗记》等正字戏优秀传统剧目，1976年开始致力正字戏接班人的培养，其表演基本功扎实，并能跨行传教生、净等行当的一些剧目。

Honors & Recognition

第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目正字戏代表性传承人，广东省陆丰市正字戏剧团艺术指导，国家三级导演。
