Chen Shaoyun
Lineage & School of Heritage
Chen Shaoyun came from a family of theatre artists. He began studying the art at nine and made his stage debut at ten. He studied under Fang Hangsheng and others, and later learned plays from Zhao Lintong, a celebrated actor of the Qi school, and Cao Shijia, an actor of the Yang school, inheriting the Qi school's richly coloured, impassioned performing style. He subsequently became a disciple of the renowned director A Jia.
