汤先成自幼酷爱雕刻艺术，六七岁时就能雕刻简单的影头和影身，在伯祖父和父亲的细心指导下，二十余岁即获得汤格皮影雕刻工艺真传。

1977年至1985年，他与父亲为各地皮影戏班制作皮影十六堂，计一千二百多件，影头四千余个，帽子两千多顶，并培养出汤格皮影的下一代传人。

男，汉族，1953年生，湖北潜江人。

他雕刻的汤格皮影，影身高大，线条流畅，图案栩栩如生，操作灵便耐用，2006年完成《汤格皮影》一书的撰写，为皮影雕刻技术的整理和保存做出了贡献。

Honors & Recognition

第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目皮影戏（江汉平原皮影戏）代表性传承人。
