刘年华1961年随祖父到潜江皮影队学艺，拜万光禄为师，又得祖师周天元亲身传授。

男，汉族，1949年生，湖北潜江人。

他精通鸡鸣腔、渔鼓腔皮影戏，并从事皮影雕刻艺术。

他精通祖传的鸡鸣腔、渔鼓腔的各种打击乐和弦乐扬琴，并能够一人使用多种乐器配合演唱，至今在江汉平原各地拥有广泛的群众基础。

Honors & Recognition

第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目皮影戏（江汉平原皮影戏）代表性传承人。

他雕刻皮影近六百余件，皮影头茬近两千余个，改编移植剧本三百多个，传教徒弟二十余人。
