男，汉族，1942年生，台湾台南人。
陈锦堂1959年至1960年任职于漳州市木偶剧团，后赴福建省戏曲研究所进修编导专业，回团后从事导演和演员工作。
曾多次参加全国巡回演出，并出国访问演出。
他认真继承父辈的表演技艺，在木偶“三节棍”和“脱手回套”等绝技表演上有所发展，对布袋戏的表演有全方面的了解和掌握。
他导演了多部木偶戏，积极投身木偶造型的创新，使木偶人更加形象生动，创造发明了“指通与关节通”（木偶的左右关节臂），并将技艺传授给儿子，曾多次为业余木偶爱好者传授技艺。
代表作品有：《画皮》《水仙花》等。
