Lineage & School of Heritage
In 1961 he was admitted to the Shaoxing quyi training class, where he studied Pinghu Diao under Hu Shaozu and Qian Dake. In 1966 he joined the Shaoxing County quyi troupe, and in 1986 he was transferred to the Shaoxing County Cultural Center as an officer in charge of quyi instruction. Since his retirement in 2005 he has been engaged by Shaoxing Television as host of the programme Shiye Shuo Xinwen (The Master Tells the News).

Male, Han ethnicity, born in 1945 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. He is proficient in wind, bowed, plucked and vocal performance and is thoroughly versed in the basic scores, qupai tune patterns and vocal styles of Pinghu Diao; his representative work is Zeng Ji Li Hua (Remembering the Pear Blossoms).
