Male, of Han ethnicity, born in 1947, a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. He is a national representative bearer of Yangzhou Jade Carving, a first-batch national intangible cultural heritage project, and a Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts. After joining the Yangzhou Jade Utensil Factory in 1963, Jiang Chunyuan received guidance from many senior craftsmen. He subsequently persisted in self-study over the long term, practiced drawing, immersed himself in everyday life, and gathered materials widely, always sizing up the stone before cutting and letting the material dictate the design. His works are handsome and dignified in bearing, elegant in form, and exquisitely translucent. His representative works include Tanglang Baicai (Mantis and Chinese Cabbage), Bajun Tu (Eight Fine Horses), and Haitang Lianlu (Chained Censer with Crab-apple Blossom), among others.
