Liang Xiaofeng
Lineage & School of Heritage
He is the sixth-generation bearer of Xinyiquan, a boxing art also known as Xinyi Liuhequan.
Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire
Male, of Han ethnicity, born in August 1956 in Jinzhong, Shanxi Province. He loved the martial arts from childhood, began practising at the age of six, and studied Xinyiquan successively under the renowned teachers Xu Ziqing, Ma Chaodong, Zhao Yu and Wang Yinghai. The boxing he practises belongs to traditional competitive wushu; he holds that fitness and combat must be valued equally, that inner and outer cultivation must advance together, and that bodily expression and cultural transmission need not conflict, so his mode of transmission rests chiefly on the three transmissions: oral transmission, transmission through manuals, and transmission by hand. Over many years he has carried out comprehensive research on Xinyiquan and has collated and published the monograph Xin Yi Liu He Quan Xing Gong Mi Fa (Secret Methods of Xinyi Liuhequan Practice), totalling more than a million characters.

He is a national representative bearer of Xinyiquan, a third-batch national intangible cultural heritage project. He began taking disciples and teaching in the early 1980s and has to date trained more than 40,000 Xinyi disciples and second-generation disciples, among them kings of Sanda, boxing champions and wrestling champions.
