Lineage & School of Heritage

In junior middle school she studied under the Taiwanese painter Huang Qilong, laying a solid artistic foundation for her paper-cutting.

Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire

Female, of the Han ethnic group, born in July 1929, a native of Zherong County, Fujian Province. Influenced by her mother from childhood, she took to paper-cutting at an early age. Her works generally employ a flat compositional method in which the whole sheet is filled with evenly arranged motifs linked one to another; with little empty space left in the picture, they are strongly decorative and carry a pronounced local flavor.
