Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire
Male, Lhoba ethnicity, born in October 1948, a native of Milin County, Tibet Autonomous Region. A reciter of the Lhoba ancestral legend. He once lived with his clan in a communal settlement on the mountain for more than twenty years. Only after moving in 1985 to Caizhao Village in Nanyi Lhoba Ethnic Township, Milin County, Nyingchi Prefecture, Tibet, did he set up a separate household from the other members of his clan. During the long years of communal living he often heard the old people and the elders of his clan tell stories of Lhoba historical figures and the legend of the Lhoba ancestral origin, so that his grasp and memory of the content of the legend became especially profound. In daily life he influences the young people around him through his own words and conduct, integrating the Lhoba ancestral legend into every aspect of life and widely propagating the classics of his ethnic group. He is now a reciter known to every household, and through his personal influence he calls on the young people around him to strive together for the transmission of the classics.
