The lineage emphasizes family transmission, with bearers in every generation. She also established a paper-cutting base in Xingbei Community and has held paper-cutting training classes to pass on the craft.
Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire
Female, Han ethnicity, born in November 1941 in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. From childhood she learned paper-cutting from her maternal grandmother, Wang Songshi, her mother, Han Wangshi, and her five elder sisters. As her skills advanced, she began to draw inspiration from everyday life and to create paper-cutting artworks of her own. She habitually holds the scissors in her left hand and, apart from large works that require careful preliminary design, generally cuts directly without preparing a draft. Her works mostly adopt circular compositions, and she is adept at using metaphor, homophony and related devices to express themes of seeking good fortune and auspiciousness, skillfully combining traditional pattern formats with images of flowers, birds and animals to create a rich folk atmosphere. Representative works include Ji Qing You Yu (Auspiciousness and Abundance), Jiu Yu Tu (Picture of Nine Fish) and Shuang Long Hui (Convergence of Two Dragons). She has published the book Han Yueqin's Auspicious Paper-cuts.

A national representative bearer of Paper-cutting (Zhuanghe paper-cutting), a fifth-batch national intangible cultural heritage project.
