Gao Jinai
Mastery, Signature Works & Repertoire
The most distinctive feature of her paper-cut works is their freely varying forms: plain and elegantly simple, with the outer shapes and internal ornamentation kept simple and clear. Her cutting method relies chiefly on dark cutting, and her ornamentation makes frequent use of notched teeth and spiral patterns. Her works as a whole are vigorous and powerful, fierce and majestic, presenting a masculine beauty; she currently has three apprentices. Her representative works include the Mugwort Tiger (Aihu).
