出身于藏医世家，祖父是西藏日喀则有名的藏医大师。

5岁时随父亲和叔父接受藏医启蒙教育，背诵藏医基本知识。

男，藏族，1946年5月生，西藏自治区仁布县人。

第四批国家级非物质文化遗产项目藏医药（藏药炮制技艺）代表性传承人。

教授，博士生导师。

12岁时正式被拉萨“门孜康”(拉萨藏医天文历算学院)录取，系统学习藏医药和天文历算等内容，接受正规的藏医药教育，后以优异成绩毕业。

担任西藏藏医学院硕士和博士研究生导师，以丰富的经验授徒传艺。

主编有《藏医药目录学》(藏汉英版)等，体现了其对藏医学的全面继承。
