Male, Tibetan ethnicity, born in 1937 in Danba, Sichuan. From childhood he studied Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan medicine under such eminent figures as the living Buddha Garang Danbi Jiangcun, and profoundly absorbed the essence of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan medicine. He began practicing medicine in 1962, and in 1980 was assigned to the Bamei Department of Tibetan Medicine of the Health School of Ganzi Prefecture, where he worked in medical treatment, teaching, and pharmaceutical production. In long-term clinical practice of Tibetan medicine, he summarized the academic theories and methods of his predecessors and, combining them with his own clinical experience, developed distinctive therapeutic methods for the Tibetan medical treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases, diabetes, and gynecological disorders. He is especially expert in the processing and preparation of Renqing Zuota, the mother medicine of Tibetan medicinals, and has presided over and guided its preparation on many occasions. He actively participated in the research project of the state and provincial administrations of traditional Chinese medicine on the clinical efficacy of Zuota De Zima in the treatment of chronic gastritis, and in the research on Zangyao Rangjiang Duoji, a national category-three new medicine. He also took part in research on the action and safety of mercury in Tibetan medicinals, and has published more than ten papers in journals at various levels and at academic conferences.

Honors & Recognition

A national representative bearer of Tibetan Medicine (the Southern School Tibetan medicine of Ganzi Prefecture), a first-batch national intangible cultural heritage project; associate chief Tibetan medicine physician at the Tibetan Medicine Hospital of Ganzi Prefecture, and a recipient of the special government allowance of the State Council.
